Local Authors Book Sale

Picture
Like books? Like chatting with local authors? Well, you can do BOTH on Saturday July 5th at the Stanley A. Milner Library, located at 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square Centennial Plaza in Edmonton. There's an all-day book sale that will feature local authors, who will be hanging around, ready to sign books and talk with you! I'll be there, along with a number of other wonderful authors, poets from the Stroll of Poets, and more.

Hope to see you there!

This panel attempts to answer the question: does AI have a place in the creative realm? Listen to both pro-AI and anti-AI authors and decide for yourself.

Authors on the panel will include: Charles James, Chris Forrest, Ron S. Friedman, and Christine Taylor.

Burnout and How to Recover (Saturday @ 9am)

With any sort of intense profession, you can need a break from it once in a while. Especially after a work is published, you might find yourself stepping back from writing and not be sure when you'll be able to get back to it. It's important to identify when you're burned out, as well as learn how to recover and get back to the writing life sooner rather than later.

Authors on the panel will include: Kimberley McNeil, Katherine Archibald, and Sarah Brinley.

The Myth of Writer's Block (Saturday @ 5pm)

Writer's block is a state of mind, and there are multiple tips and tricks to work around it. Find out the ways this panel of authors has said 'No' to fear of the blank page.

Authors on the panel will include: Kim Cheel, Ashley Killeen, and Lynda Williams.

Pantser Versus Plotter - Which One Are You? (Sunday @ 4pm)

Are you a scribbler who writes by the seat of your pants? Or maybe you don't start penning a work until you have a complete chapter-by-chapter outline? Find out what kind of writing style works best for you, and the strengths and weaknesses of each method, with authors who have been on both sides of the pantser/plotter spectrum.

Authors on the panel will include: Yvonne Kjorlien, R. Graeme Cameron, and Niall Howell.

In addition, I'm one of a number of contributors to the new collaborative novel by Lintusen Press, called Laurel Lake Lodge. Shawn Bird will be hosting a launch of the book at When Words Collide on Saturday at 1pm, and contributing writers will be there to sign books and chat about the project. So, stop by and find out what a collaborative novel is all about!

Been a bit behind in listing places I'll be - will be updating this page soon!
